MEMBER for Orange Andrew Gee says he is still waiting for a briefing from the management of HealthShare NSW regarding the future of Orange Linen Service.
“I have requested that a HealthShare representative attend my office today for a preliminary briefing on the matter and I have also arranged for a further meeting with senior HealthShare management to occur at Parliament House tomorrow,” Mr Gee said.
“I am still very disappointed and angry that no one from HealthShare has given me any indication as to what is being planned with regard to the Orange Linen Service and I will be conveying this in the meetings.”
Mr Gee said not only was he not informed about the changes at the linen service, the Western Local Health District chair and chief executive were not told about it either.
“The questions that I want answered at the moment are why these steps have been taken, whether all steps to keep the Prince of Wales Hospital business have been exhausted, and whether there are ways in which that business can be retained.”
Mr Gee said he wanted details about the employees at the Orange Linen Service and what they had been told about their continuing employment.”
