What’s a Bieber do between mates

JERRY Ovenden will no longer be doing the Justin Bieber hair flick after his long locks were shaved off to raise money for leukaemia research and to support his best mate, Aaron Rodgers.

Jerry signed up to the World’s Greatest Shave after his sister dared him to get a haircut.

He said he thought about how his friend Aaron had been in and out of hospital for years and wanted to help raise money for other children in the same position.

Aaron suffers from kidney disease and Perthes’ disease, which affects his hip joint, and is due for another operation this year.

Together the boys raised about $1200 and their school, Spring Hill Public, chipped in as well with nearly all of the 42 children getting their hair dyed for a coin donation.

The kindergarten children went one step further and decided to shave the hair of their “grass heads”, plants the children had been growing in cups for a month.

Jerry and Aaron were pleased with their new hairstyles.

Jerry was keen to shave five seconds off his swimming relay time and Aaron was keen to test if his new do made him any more aerodynamic.

“It’s making my brain hurt,” Aaron yelled out as he pulled nervous looking expressions during the big shave.

Jerry took the event in his stride and was not too concerned because he thinks it will only take 12 months to grow his hair back.
