A MOTHER of three has been left badly shaken after being robbed in a busy supermarket car park in Orange on Thursday afternoon.
The woman, who asked not to be named, had just finished her grocery shopping about 5pm and returned to her vehicle when she was approached by a man in his 30s. As the rain poured down outside, the woman was trying to close her car door when the man opened it and demanded she had over money.
The woman gave the man $5, the only money she had, and he fled.
Her husband told the Central Western Daily the behaviour of the “low life” was disgraceful.
“He was yelling at her to give him her money,” he said.
“She’s pretty shaken up.”
The concerned husband said he was thankful his wife was not physically injured during the incident.
“It’s lucky he never took to her,” he said.
“She did the right thing by handing him the money.”
He wants to remind other people to be vigilant, even in a busy car park in broad daylight.
“Be alert, especially ladies who are by themselves,” he said.
