RELAX with a cocktail, climb a mountain or undertake a European tour, today’s modern honeymoon can be almost anything, Harvey World Travel manager Matt Stonestreet said yesterday.
Harvey World Travel Orange will be one of 60 exhibitors at tomorrow’s Orange Bridal Expo.
On at the Orange PCYC, it will host the best in everything wedding, with exhibitors coming from Sydney and across the central west.
Mr Stonestreet said one of the most unusual honeymoons he had booked a couple on was a camping trip.
“One of the more roughing-it style trips through South Africa, it was camping, sleeping under the stars and lots of walking,” he said.
Mr Stonestreet said couples were booking longer trips, or “once-in-a-lifetime trips”, for their honeymoons, such as Europe.
“Europe’s always popular, but it’s also on par with Mauritius and you can’t discard Fiji or Thailand,” he said.
“The younger couples are doing longer tour-based things.”
Orange Helicopters and Limousines will also be at the expo with their Rolls Royce and stretch limousine on show in the PCYC and, weather permitting, their Bell Jet Ranger helicopter outside.
Owner Dean Brus said brides arriving at their wedding ceremony in a helicopter was a growing trend in Orange.
“It’s a pretty special grand entrance ... it’s a pretty unique way to have the bride delivered to the wedding,” he said.
One of the Orange Bridal Expo co-ordinators Debbie Campbell said it would be a great event with everything on show for weddings and honeymoons.
“Come early because it takes a long time to get around,” she said.
“If you went out and did this on your own it would take weeks, but it’s all under one roof [on Sunday].”
Ms Campbell said the expo would be the largest in the central west with over 1500 people expected to attend.
From new-season fashion, to flowers, receptions and lingerie, head to the Orange PCYC tomorrow for the expo.
