By George he's got key to footy tipping

LIKE his mighty Wests Tigers putting in the hard yards on the sand dunes throughout a torturous pre-season, George Eleftheriou is hoping hours upon hours studying the form guide will propel him back to the top this winter.

Entering the Central Western Daily’s 2013 NRL Footy Tipping competition, Mr Eleftheriou is the footy tipping guru at Kellys Rugby Hotel.

He said after an “average” 2012, both he and the team at Kellys were looking forward to a strong start to the tipping season when the NRL season kicks off on March 7.

The key?

“Getting more winners right probably,” Mr Eleftheriou said.

“I pick five or six of the better sides and stick with them fairly regularly.”

A Tigers tragic, Mr Eleftheriou admits to feeling let down by his favourite side throughout 2012.

He’s confident 2013 will be a different story.

“They’ll go a little bit better,” he said.

“If Benji lifts, he has bulked up a bit over the off-season, he should go alright.”

The 2013 CWD footy tipping competition will appear every week throughout the season in Friday’s edition.

First place is a $1000 cash prize while, for the first time, this season’s competition will include a powerplay round, enabling the tipper to receive double points for each correct tip.

“It is good promotion,” Mr Eleftheriou said.

“It gets you out there, people come in and talk about it all the time. It does work. I love it. It’s always good fun.”
