FOR centuries February 14 has been known as Valentine’s Day, but today Orange book lovers are being called on for Library Lovers Day.
The day provides an opportunity for book lovers of all ages to express their love for reading and their local library.
Library Lovers Day celebrations will be held at Orange City Library today, with readers being asked to tell them in a few words why they love reading. Central West Libraries manager Jan Richards people had given many reasons why they loved reading.
“For example, ‘reading is like breathing, something I have to do’ or ‘it takes me to places far away’, she said.
After the quotes are collated they will be used in the library throughout the year, with some to take pride of place on the library’s front windows.
“While it’s one day of the year to celebrate, your quotes will be used throughout 2013,” Ms Richards said.
