AS the storm clouds gathered on Saturday evening, Central Western Daily readers across the region pointed their cameras upwards to capture what they saw.
Thunderstorms often make for a spectacular photo - looming dark clouds, hazy sky and bolts of lighting that streak across the night sky.
CWD readers across the region captured these great shots and submitted them through our free iPhone app.
Jordie Gorham sent in a photo of a lighting bolt he captured while he was in north Orange.
“When there’s a storm we drive around and take photos of it,” he said.
The avid photographer and storm watcher said submitting the photo through the app was quick and easy.
“This one’s the best one I’ve got in my whole time of doing it,” he said.
CWD reader Brock Taylor also submitted a photo through the app of storm clouds gathering over Mount Panorama as he watched the Bathurst 12 Hour on Saturday.
“I just thought it was a perfect one of the storm over Mount Panorama,” he said.
While Sarah Hall snapped her great photo of the thunderstorm approaching Wyangala Dam.
If you are yet to download our free iPhone app, head to iTunes and search for Central Western Daily.
The app gives you the latest news, sport and weather direct to your phone.
It also allows you to submit photos straight to the news desk through the report button.
An app for android phones is in the works, stay tuned for further details as they come to hand.
