There were over 300 cars and motorbikes on display at Sir Jack Brabham Park with thousands of people streaming through the gates.
Motor sport racing legends Jim Richards and Colin Bond were special guests on Saturday, and the crowds lined up for a chat, an autograph and a photo.
Crowds buzzed around seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner, current Touring Car Masters competitor and 2006 Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame inductee Jim Richards during the show.
“We have as much fun looking at their cars as they do looking at ours,” Mr Richards said.
He said the car show was a great family event for the central west community and had a historical background.
“The first Australian touring car race started here at Gnoo Blas,” he said.
When asked what would be his dream car, Mr Richards told the Central Western Daily there were too many to choose from.
“If I had my way I’d take a dozen of them,” he said.
Retired rally car and touring car driver and winner of the 1969 Hardie-Ferodo 500, Colin Bond was only to pleased to attend the car show in Orange.
Long-time racing car driver and motor sport fan, Mr Bond said he was still passionate about racing.
“I raced for 30 years, there’s not many sports you can do for that amount of time and have no injuries,” he said.
Gnoo Blas Classic Car Club president Denis Gregory said they had a lucky break with warm, sunny weather on Saturday to attract the crowds.
“There’s a lot from Sydney, they’ve come from the south coast, central west, Canberra and Newcastle,” he said.
Mr Gregory said there was a wide range of cars and bikes on display from a $500,000 Ferrari to the smallest car on show, a Fiat 500.
Major awards included car of the show, a Lotus Cortina driven from England through countries like Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan in 1972 and owned by Geoff Bayliss of Camden. Runner-up was Brian Wood’s FJ Holden.
Shane Reddan’s Holden was best local car and the Australian Sporting Car Club won best club display.
Best motorcyle was a1950 AJS owned by Peter Wherritt and runner-up was Charles Stammers’ Triumph, both of Orange.
