BISHOP of the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst Richard Hurford has expressed empathy with parishioners impacted by the sale of church properties.
Bishop Hurford says he feels their pain at losing church properties, but the sell-offs are necessary to meet church debts of $8 million.
He said even though the three Anglican schools in the diocese at Orange, Dubbo and Bathurst had incurred a combined debt of $30 million, a tight management plan was in place to manage debt and the schools were not in danger of closing.
