A LARGE bang rolled across the landscape and then houses shook as a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck north of Boorowa tonight.
The earthquake struck about 7.15pm according to Geoscience Australia and was felt across the region with reports houses shook in Cowra, Grenfell, Lyndhurst, Harden and Young.
On the Grenfell Record Facebook page one reader said the the earthquake, "sounded like when they do the blasting in the coal mines".
There have been no reports of damage.
