Ready to follow the yellow brick road

ENERGY, personality and an ability to cooperate were the attributes director Trevor Carroll was looking for when he auditioned about 100 children hoping to be cast in Orange Theatre Company’s upcoming production of  The Wizard of Oz.

Mr  Carroll spent yesterday afternoon auditioning children aged between six and 16 years to fill 30 roles.

“We’re here to look at the potential of what we’ve got,” Mr Carroll said.

“Really it’s about getting them started [in theatre] so that they get hooked ... and it’s a great social event.”

The Wizard of Oz will be held at the Orange Civic Theatre from May 10 to 18.
