THE Orange and District Picnic Races are on today and organisers are expecting big crowds.
Last year’s races attracted more than 2500 people, which meant the committee was able to donate $8000 to charity.
This year’s funds will go to the Men of Canobolas group who mentor young Aboriginal people.
Gates open at noon and the first race jumps at about 1.30pm.
Tickets costs $20, with a six race program, with local and TAB betting facilities on track.
Fashions on the field will be held at about 3.30pm, with first, second and third prizes in best dressed female, best dressed male and best hat.
Winners could go home with thousands of dollars worth of vouchers from Orange boutique stores.
