WE are about to put our keyboards and notepads down and pick up a paddle, all in the name of charity.
The Central Western Daily's dragon boat team, Hard Pressed, is one of 15 teams taking part in the second annual Slow Summer dragon boat race this Sunday.
Hard Pressed team leader Ella Bowman said with a few experienced paddlers among them they are looking to improve their times from last year.
"It's a great day out and we're all looking forward to it," she said.
All dragon boat teams will be raising funds for charity with Hard Pressed helping out the Orange hospital.
"The main thing is that everyone has fun and we're raising money for the hospital," Ms Bowman said.
Racing will take part at Lake Canobolas for the A Day at the Beach event and the community is invited to come along and barrack for their favourite team.
Among the family-friendly activities are a kids' zone, food stalls, live music and an amazing mystery quest.
Racing starts at 10am, entry is by gold coin donation.
