THE focus will be will be on Aussie entertainment, barbecues and poolside fun when Australia Day activities are held throughout Cabonne Shire next week.
A day of celebrations is planned for Saturday, starting at 8am with breakfasts at Cumnock and Mullion Creek and wrapping up with a barbecue dinner and family fun at Yeoval swimming pool from 6pm.
Cabonne’s Australia Day ambassador Countess Natalie Faber-Castell and the shire’s official Australia Day party will participate in ceremonies at Cumnock, Molong and Eugowra where the citizens of the year, young citizens of the year and community groups of the year will be announced.
Australia Day will also be celebrated at Mullion Creek, Cargo, Cudal, Canowindra and Manildra, with events ranging from pool parties to kids’ discos and presentation of awards.
Countess Faber-Castell is the marketing manager for international company Faber-Castell, one of the world’s oldest and largest manufacturers of pens and pencils. She will be accompanied by Cabonne youth ambassador Sarah White and mayor Ian Gosper.
She will begin a hectic day at Cumnock, where musical entertainment, novelty events and an Aussie breakfast will be the highlights.
The official party will then travel to Molong for celebrations at the town’s Recreation Ground, starting at 10.30am. A Twenty20 cricket match, citizenship ceremony and morning tea will be among the activities.
Eugowra Bowling Club will be the focal point for celebrations in that town where the official party will be welcomed with high tea at 1.30pm. A range of family events is planned for people of all ages.
