Woodstock bushfire contained

A BUSHFIRE at Woodstock has been contained and  NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews will spend the next few days mopping up after the blaze.

The fire broke out at about 4pm yesterday, 52 kilometres south of Orange, and took just three hours to destroy 434 hectare.

While no houses were lost in the blaze, about 20 cattle and 40 sheep died as a result.

The Mid Western Highway has reopened, with motorists advised to proceed with caution.
