Mrs Hastedt was the third winner of the Central Western Daily’s Festive Frenzy promotion, and picked up more than $870 worth of prizes.
“Absolutely unbelievable. You enter these promotions in the off chance you might win, but you never actually think you will,” she said.
“I’ve been entering this promotion as long as it’s been running and I’ve never actually won. It’s fantastic.”
Among Mrs Hastedt’s collection of prizes was nearly $400 worth of wine from The Royal Hotel, a movie voucher from Odeon 5 Cinemas, a necklace from Angus and Coote and more.
She paid tribute to the promotion and said she’d continue to support local businesses like Collins Books where she made her winning entry.
“I always have a look in the paper and see who’s taking part in the promotion and have a tendency to go to that shop,” she said.
“It’s great to support local businesses that give a bit back to those who support them.”
It was a sentiment shared by Central Western Daily managing editor Tony Rhead, who confirmed the competition had been successful.
“We’ve been surprised with the number of entries and clearly local shoppers are getting behind the Festive Frenzy,” he said.
“It’s great that a local shopper like Narelle has been rewarded as a winner.
“We’ve still got three more draws with some fantastic prizes up for grabs, plus the major prize of a $6000 voucher from Harvey Norman so get in quick and support Orange businesses.”
