PrimeSpace Property chief executive officer Anthony McDonald said the Summer Centre shopping centre development, which will house Dan Murphy’s, was on track.
While work had temporarily stopped at the site, an internal restructure has meant building company Quasar Constructions has recommenced work at the Summer Street site.
Mr McDonald said Dan Murphy’s was opening ahead of schedule next month with the remainder of the development to be completed by mid-2013.
“It’s great to have work underway again, and great news that Dan Murphy’s will be opening ahead of schedule,” Mr McDonald said.
“I have had several positive discussions with key stakeholders for the project and everyone is in agreement on the benefits the Summer Centre will offer the Orange community.”
The new-look Summer Centre will include a range of speciality shops, a Supa IGA supermarket and 270 car parks.
Mr McDonald will be on site at the Summer Centre today with Supa IGA owner Ian Ashcroft, to give an update on the development and discuss the expected opening dates for some of its stores.
