Want to make your dinner party pop with colour? Try painting your roses electric blue. Yes, blue.
Founder and creator of AZB Creative, Alex Zabotto-Bentley encourages people to think outside the box. "If you go to the $2 shop and buy bunches of fake roses, then buy a cheap pot of paint and paint them. People will start talking. It’s all about doing something a bit different."
Zabotto-Bentley is the master of creating a scene, "I think it’s important to know the night is a story so music, lighting, atmosphere all need to relate."
"Think drama. Treat your party like it’s a movie. It needs sets, it needs props and colourful lighting. So think big and create paper chandeliers and large scale installations or think small and just have a collection of similar things," he said.
But it doesn’t have to be expensive he said from a styling perspective just pull out all the old crystal your grandma gave you and stack them on the table. "Or go to the market and buy 20 different candle holders," he said.
Cheap, effective and dramatic. Just like blue roses.
