SOFTBALL
THE Western Warriors from Bletchington Softball Club recently took part in the Australia Day Softball Carnival at Canberra.
They competed in the Under 12 boys’ division and did themselves proud coming home with second place. The boys lost the final to the Macarthur All Stars 22-3.
Over three days they played a total of 13 games and played each game with great sportsmanship. New friendships were made and all of the boys learnt new skills and rose to every challenge put to them.
A special thanks to Thomas Christofis from Mudgee for joining to team and congratulations for scoring one of two home runs. The other huge hit and home run was made by Seb Worboys.
Congratulations boys on a great effort and a big thank you to Geoff Kelly and Jim Zeylemaker for coaching them.
The Western Warriors weren’t the only Orange side to make the finals with the Pink Panthers finishing second in the Under 16 boys’ division when they lost the decider 4-1 to Canberra.
Orange was also represented by the Pink Panthers in the Under 14 boys and the Under 14 and Under 16 girls.
The Phantoms contested the Under 12s and Under 14s girls’ divisions.
