ORANGE Pistol Club member Dean Brus added a NSW centre fire title to his impressive resume last weekend.
Brus travelled to Cessnock for the NSW pistol titles, where he won the A grade centre fire shooting 290-300. The score also gave him top score overall.
His precision score was 278/300 for a total of 568 which won the gold medal.
Brus has only recently acquired a new centre fire pistol and had only had a few practice shots in preparation.
Air pistol was Brus main event for the shoot but his score of 545 was no where near his best and he missed a placing.
He also withdrew from rapid fire with a pistol malfunction.
Taking time off from her judging position Helen Johnson came up with her best score to take out the bronze medal for ladies C grade air pistol. She shot 338-400.
At the Cessnock vintage championships last March Johnson took out first with a lesser score.
Husband Brian was kept busy over the three days with his duties as judge.
Despite the rain and hail the titles were a success.
At the Orange club's Wednesday night air pistol shoot, A grader David Oates shot a 547/600.
D graders Bill Little (446) and Michael Munroe (339) also shot, as did Maisie Harvey (295/400).
