Darryn Marjoram helped warm up the crowd at the Hockeyroos’ second Test match against Korea in Hobart on Saturday by scoring a goal in the curtain-raiser.
Marjoram struck the first goal for his national veterans’ team to level the game against a Tasmanian veterans team 1-all.
Both teams traded one more goal each to see the match finish a 2-all draw in a game Marjoram describes as a good experience, as it was played before the Kookaburras’ 3-2 win over Korea.
Marjoram played a full game in the exhibition game as his national team only took 12 players despite it being played in the summer heat.
The Bloomfield forward also enjoyed the chance to watch the Kookaburras in action.
“It was really good to watch the Kookaburras play. They drew a big crowd there,” he said.
Marjoram received further good news over the weekend as he was informed he has been named a shadow player for the Australian over 40s team for their trans-Tasman test against New Zealand in Newcastle later this year.
