EX-SERVICES LADIES

TOMORROW sees the play-off for the prestigious medal of medals at Ex-Services.

Ten ladies who have been lucky enough to win a monthly medal throughout the year will get to play for the overall medal, which has been kindly sponsored by Basil’s @ 297.

Best of luck to Sue Gander, Beryl McCloskey, Kayla Smith, Trish Kruger, Di Smith, Margo Sullivan, Rob Newey, Pat Pellow, Marg Smith and Shirley Davis.

Last Saturday the annual open Charity Day was held, with all proceeds going to Juvenile Diabetes.

The event was an 18-hole stableford and L’Oreal donated beautiful gift bags for all our winners. In division one Karen Giffin was first, followed by Robyn Newey and a close third went to Trish Kruger. In division two Pauline Thompson was first with a wonderful 41 points, second went to Daisy Baird and third place was taken out by Thelma Rossi.

The raffle was won by Sue Hutchinson, which was a lovely handmade patchwork quilt.

This was a much sought-after prize on the day. A thank you goes out to all ladies who were clever and talented enough to make and bake items for our trading table, it was a huge success.

On Saturday, November 14 the Ex-Services ladies will be holding their annual open tournament.

Entries are coming in fast, but remember post-entries are also welcome, so give captain Margo a call.

There is $1800 worth of prizes up for grabs in this event, so come along and have a wonderful day of golf. Lunch will be provided and all lady members are asked to bring a plate for afternoon tea.

This week we also saw the Women’s Golf NSW Medal winners head off to play in the play-offs in Sydney. Our club will be represented by Kayla Smith in the gold medal, Sue Gander in the silver medal and Rachel Goodlock in the bronze medal division. Good luck girls, hit them long and straight.

And lastly just a little cheerio to our members that haven’t been feeling the best lately. Jenny Gartrell, Gail Pringle, Merl Lang who went in for an operation on Thursday and to Noelene Holland who had a knee replacement.

Best wishes to you all and we wish you a speedy recovery, so you will be back playing with us in no time.
