EIGHT DAY GAMES
Versatility will be a key to getting a win in this year’s Orange Eight Day Games teams’ event.
Ten teams have nominated with another two possibly joining.
This leaves room for four more sides with entries to close this weekend.
Organiser Fletcher Niven said there would be plenty of variety in this year’s Games.
“We try and rotate the sports around each year so we don’t do the same thing all the time,” Niven explained.
“Everyone said they enjoyed doing mixed touch football so we’ve brought that back.
“We have the new PCYC so we thought we should try and use this facility. We’ll do novelty events there in the gym. That will be great because it won’t matter if it’s raining.”
Other events this year include T-ball, Kanga cricket, tug-o-war, team commando and lawn bowls.
This year’s team event has attracted some usual names along with a couple of new sides.
One team to look for this year could be Scared Fitless, who are made up of people who have previously contested the King and Queen of Sport.
Cabonne Crushers are always competitive and the Central Western Daily’s own Headliners ensure they enjoy the social side of the event.
Entry forms are available from the NSW Sport and Recreation Office on the corner of Byng and McNamara Streets.
Paid entries must be received before 4pm, this Sunday when the rules afternoon will be held at Waratahs.
