KING AND QUEEN OF SPORT

Jonathon Punch has a small lead in the King of Sport standings after Wednesday’s events.

Competitors in the King and Queen of Sport started their day with a mystery event which turned out to be golf chipping.

This was followed by a 3km run at Elephant Park.

Punch still leads the King of Sport with 344 points, 17 points ahead of second-placed Mitch Williamson.

Russell Culverson holds on to third on 305 points, with defending champion Jackson Leckie fourth on 302.

Punch produced two top-four results on Wednesday, finishing second behind Sam Morgan in the golf chipping and fourth in the run.

Mitch Williamson took out the run, with Baden Curran second and Leckie third.

Two things remain consistent in the race for the Queen’s crown - Nicky Williamson and Cathy Johnson are battling for the top spot and Carrie Williamson is holding onto third.

Johnson remains in the lead after Wednesday’s events with a five-point advantage over defending champion Nicky Williamson.

Joanne Barrett took out the golf chipping with Carrie Williamson second and Johnson third.

Sue Dean was the best in the run ahead of Nicky Williamson and Johnson.

Yesterday, participants had croquet and orienteering.

Today they have a mystery event followed by tenpin bowling.
