THE Central Western District Pistol Shooting Championships were held at the Orange District Pistol Club range over the weekend with most local shooters unable to capitalise on home range knowledge.
Dave Oates and Dean Brus finished first and second in the 25 metre centre-fire with Oates' win the only one for Orange shooters.
Oates also finished second to Dubbo's David Hill in the 10 metres men's air with Hill also claiming the 50 metre pistol event.
Former Olympian Phillip Adams from the Forbes RSL club was runner-up to Hill in the 50 metre pistol but he was able to go one better in the 25 metre standard
Kurrajong's David Richardson claimed the junior air 60 competition and finished third in the junior sport category behind Daniel Kolar (Blue Mountains) and Myles Green (Hubertus).
Kolar was also able to win the 25 metre rapid fire title while Parkes' Helen Lord took out the 10 metre women's air.
