ROWING
KINROSS Wolaroi School rowers have again performed strongly at the Independent Schools Rowing Association Championships in Canberra last weekend, coming away with a total of 15 medals.
The school club won seven gold medals, three silver and five bronze during the two-day regatta after impressing a week earlier at the NSW Rowing Association Championships.
Harriet Hain was the most successful winning three gold with the year nine and year 10 Quad Scull and year nine Double Scull.
In one of the more prestigious events, Borjan Kosarac took out the Schoolboys Single Scull A final, which is a great achievement.
The boys under 17s VIII of Tom Borowski, Michael Nagy, Declan Michell, Matt Simpson, Will Collett, Tom Fenton, Michael Pickford, Tim Trethowan and Angus Rogers were also successful claiming the year 10 boys VIII and a bronze in the Schoolboys VIII.
Gold also came in the Schoolgirls Quad Scull with the crew of Grace Michell, Eloise Daniel, Eloise Eveleigh, Laura Wannan and Kathryn Pasquali beating the field to the finish line.
The younger girls Quad Scull crews added to the success taking out the year nine and year 10 titles as well.
And the younger boys crews also kept up the good performances for the club with the year eight Quad Scull taking out their event.
Kinross will now send a contingent of 22 rowers to the national championships this weekend in Penrith.
