RUGBY UNION
CHARLES Sturt Orange Rugby Union Club is a ship with no sail. A circus with no lion. A team with no coach.
The Orange university’s rugby union team, affectionately know as Aggies, is in desperate need of a coach for their upcoming campaign in the 2010 Australian National Field Days Cup.
Every other aspect of the club is in great shape, however club president Heath Justin says the side will need someone to guide them throughout the season.
“We had 32 players sign up for the 2010 season. Last year we were lucky to have a full 22,” Justin said.
“We just need someone who can give us a bit of leadership off the field.”
Justin believes with the right man at the helm, the side has the potential to take out the title.
“The uni has offered a few different courses this year, like physio and the dentistry degree. Our numbers have increased dramatically along with the talent the team has compared to that of last year,” he said.
“There are a few guys from Sydney uni, Canberra and right throughout the Central West.
“We are looking for a coach who could take us all the way.”
The side has started training and the early signs are promising.
“The boys gelled really well in the first training session we had,” Justin said.
“We have a few trials coming up. CSU Bathurst colts are coming over and then we’ll be going to the Orange 10s, so hopefully that training form continues.”
Anyone interested in the Aggies head coaching role is encouraged to contact Justin on 0432 800 705.
CSU Orange’s first trial will be against CSU Bathurst colts at Charles Sturt University Oval, Orange next Thursday.
