Quilts’ cut for youth

15/10/2008 7:42:00 AM
QUILTERS will be out in force this weekend for the first Quilt Extravaganza to be held at the PCYC in Orange.

More than 40 exquisite quilts of all shapes and sizes will be on display at the expo.

It will be officially opened at a preview showing this Friday from 7.00pm.

The exhibition will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4.00pm.

The group has also selected three donated quilts for raffling off on Sunday.

Proceeds will go to the PCYC.

According to Colour City Quilters’ member Ann Visman, the group wanted to recognise the important role PCYCs play in the community.

“We quilters recognise the great work carried out by the Police Community Youth Clubs.

“We have committed to help them with their contributions to the youth in our community,” she said.

As well, local craft suppliers will have projects and materials for sale.

Entry is by gold coin donation.
