A PLEA from murdered Cowra woman Kristy Lee Williams’ mother and a $100,000 reward is hoped to be enough to find her killer.
Kristy Lee Williams died from a single stab wound to the chest on June 21 2003 in Front Street in Cowra and to date the killer has not been identified. She was 22.
“We just want the person to come forward, we need closure,” Kristy Lee’s mother Cathy Ryan said yesterday.
Detective Superintendent Mark Szalajko held a press conference at the Cowra Police Station yesterday. Ms Ryan and and Kristy’s sister Tenica attended.
“We are hoping the $100,000 reward will help break the cone of silence. We are of the view Kristy knew who her killer was and we want an arrest and conviction,” Supt Szalajko said.
Ms Ryan said her family was living in torment.
“Put yourselves in our shoes and imagine how we feel. We just want answers,” she said.
Ms Ryan believes she knows who killed her daughter and she wants them to come forward.
“It may have been an accident, but we just want to know the truth,” Ms Ryan said.
“I used to love Cowra, but now my childhood, and everything has been taken with Kristy’s death.”
