MONTHS of rehearsals and planning will be put into action tonight when the curtain goes up on Orange Theatre Company’s (OTC) production of the Noel Coward play Private Lives.
Cast and crew completed final dress and technical rehearsals yesterday and, according to production director Bruce Buchanan, are looking forward to unveiling the show for Orange audiences.
“It’s all ready to go and they’re very excited,” Mr Buchanan said. “It gets to that point where you’re just ready to get in front of a live audience.”
Set in 1931, the play is a drawing room comedy about two couples on their honeymoons.
It stars Trish Aumuller, Rod Jones, Anna Gregory, Alvero Marques and Emily Carroll and features one of the largest sets every built for an Orange theatre production.
Mr Buchanan said the small cast made Private Lives a more intimate theatre experience, which would encourage audiences to examine their own relationships.
“They can expect a night of fun looking at their alter-egos and the ups and downs and comedy of marriage,” he said.
Private Lives plays at Orange Civic Theatre at 8pm tonight, 8pm tomorrow and 1pm Sunday.
