Church seeks council's blessing

26 Sep, 2008 08:48 AM
THE Orange Evangelical Church is seeking Orange City Council approval to build a $1.5 million church on the outskirts of the city which if approved will incorporate a 350-seat auditorium.

The building on the corner of Coronation Drive and Ploughmans Lane will be accessed via Cargo Road and will cover 1500 square metres to be serviced by a car park which will accommodate 152 cars.

The church site will also include four offices, a reception area, a conference room, cry room, library, crèche, kitchen and extra storage area.

The plans for the DA will be on display next week with council set to approve or reject the plans at its November meeting.

If the DA is approved work is expected to begin on the site early next year.

At press time no-one from the church could be contacted.
