Christmas in jail for porn suspect

18 Dec, 2007 08:17 AM
AN Orange man arrested by police for allegeldy being part of a child pornography ring will spend Christmas in jail.

David Bruce Lindley Elliott, 51, did not apply for bail when he appeared in Orange Local Court yesterday on 11 child pornography charges.

The charges include 10 of disseminating or producing child pornography, and a single charge of possessing child pornography.

A solidly built middle-aged man with thick glasses and unkempt dark brown hair, Elliott, unemployed, made no comment to the court other than indicating to a duty solicitor that he would not be seeking bail.

His address was given as the Colour City Caravan Park.

During his brief appearance, Elliott sat quietly in the dock, holding his handcuffed hands up in front of his face.

He has been remanded in custody until January 29, when he will re-appear at Orange.

The charges relate to raids by NSW Police strike force Pymont on Sunday when they arrested a total of six of men, most from regional areas in NSW, but also including a man in Sydney and another man in Melbourne.

The strike force investigation had taken 11 months, involving nearly 60 police in NSW, Victoria and the Australian Federal Police.
