 Big Brother is watching you

Big Brother is watching you

10 Feb, 2012 02:33 PM
ONE of Orange's major shopping centre carparks is about to introduce Big-Brother style technology to put an end to motorists shuffling their cars around to avoid a two-hour limit.

A spokesperson for the centre said the technology, which would allow it to keep a tally on the total time vehicles were parked in the carpark each day, would be a deterrent to those who used the carpark for all-day parking.

Read tomorrow's Central Western Daily to find out how the introduction of the technology could affect you then send us your comments.

Of course the technology will only be used to monitor parking behaviour.

Give it a couple more years and there will be cctv in public toilets. And no doubt we will accept it as yet another necessary evil.

where are people going to park their cars for work???? the most annoying thing about orange is the lack of parking facilities....i have gotten parking fines while attending to customers because there are a shortage of all day parking....this needs to be addressed as not all businesses provide carspaces for their employees...the streets around the old hospital are empty..this shows you that the majority of the cars were from those working in the hospital...poor planning from the start with no vision that the population will increase has led to this problem...orange is a poorly laid out city...

Well, if they own the property then they are entitled to implement the parking rules as they see fit, as long as they are legal.

I'm sure that we will see a page or two of people having a whinge about this!
